About Us

In September of 2024 Pastor Bruce and Charlene accepted the Pastorate of The River of Life.  Pastor Bruce is the author of the book, Out of the Darkness into the Light, where he shares his amazing testimony.  Charlene is the author of the book The Journey of a Pastor’s wife, where she shares a wealth of wisdom for all ladies who are raising children and serving the Lord. 

They believe that God has given them a divine mandate to bring a message of healing, hope and restoration to Edwardsville and the greater Saint Louis area.   

There are two words that describe what God has put in them.  The first is Vision, vision for the Church, the community and the ongoing promotion of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The second is excitement, they are excited about serving the Lord, people and living life in a full measure.

The River of Life exist to fulfill the great commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ before He ascended up into Heaven found in Matthew 28:18-20

·         We are a place where the broken can find healing

·         We are a family of believers that strives to walk in love and honors each other

·         We are intent on being true worshippers, both in Spirit and Truth

·         We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the fruit of the Holy Spirit is for all believers

·         We believe that marriage is between a man and a woman

·         We believe that every age group of the Church has value

·         We believe in repentance of sin and a new life in Jesus Christ

·         We believe in altar calls, praying for the sick and seasons of revival

·         We embrace the 5-fold ministry gifts that are found in Ephesians 4:11

·         We believe in the importance of fellowship and taking communion together

·         We believe that prayer meeting and attending Church is important for spiritual growth

·         We exist to help people grow in their faith and find a place where they can serve and be effective with the gifts that Christ has entrusted to them.

·         We value integrity in relationships, finances and people’s personal privacy.
